Indian Stock Market Trend Today 18 March

The market opened on a weak note as a sudden shock from Cyprus rattled investors' nerves across globe. Banks in Cyprus have decided to impose a levy on depositors amid wide protests,which led to a fear of contagion across the financial system in Europe. Benchmark indices reacted to the news, following its Asian peers. The Sensex lost 159.36 points at 19268.20 while the Nifty fell 47.15 points or 0.80% at 5825.45.

Company declared its Q2 result, Infosys is known as India's leading software service exporter. Result was highly awaited and it some how rose sentiments up and down accordingly. It reported a net profit of Rs 2,369 crore in July-September quarter, up 24% year-on-year (3.5% quarter-on-quarter), while quarterly revenue rose 21% from a year ago (2.5% sequentially) to Rs 9,858 crore.

KingFisher Airlines News :- 

The Kingfisher Airlines lockout which has been on since October 1 may be extended further with employees not willing to join back work till their dues are cleared.
